Building with Maths

About this Course

Think you don't need maths in construction?

Think again - maths is everywhere!

When did you last need to take, and work with, an accurate measurement? How often do you calculate, or estimate, the cost or quantity of materials needed on-site?

Brought to you by the Construction Industry Training Board, Building with Maths will help you improve your maths skills. With practical construction examples, you'll also see how the maths you learn will help you in your everyday work.

When you finish the course you’ll also receive a Building with Maths certificate, to show you've completed the course successfully!

Dave the Builder

I'm Dave, a CITB apprentice and I'll be going through the Building with Maths course with you. When I left school, maths definitely wasn't my strong point. As I started my apprenticeship, I realised just how much I needed maths in my everyday work and what a difference it makes when you have the basics to rely on. Now, after a bit of practice, I hardly even use my calculator for basic estimations and calculations! In this course, I’ll show you how maths helps me in my daily job.
